Why we jump on every chance for family photos…

It’s rare, my entire family is in the same location at the same time. When we are, I’d like to think everyone jumps on the chance to update our family photo.

Let’s be real, they do it for me. Well, for me and grandma. If you want me to be real, we would do anything for our grandma. She’s our biggest fan.

Well, there’s another reason we jump on the chance too.

This past December, was a really hard on my family. My uncle spent 45 days in the NICU, to say it was hard is probably an understatement. In my family, you aren’t ever alone in the hospital. So between my mom, sister, grandma and aunt there was someone

there around the clock.

Let me try my best to explain why my uncle was in the NICU, late one night one of my uncles coworkers messaged my sister saying they hadn’t heard from him all day. Which is rare, he’s always on Facebook. Then my sister reached out to the family to see if any of us had talked to him. We hadn’t. So at 9 or 9:30 at night, she made our mom go to his house. Yes, my grandma tagged along. When they got to his house, they found him where he had fallen. They quickly called and he was at the local hospital then transferred to UF at Shands.  Where he spent most of his time. My uncle had a very large amount of blood on his brain, yes you read that right. After a surgery to put in a drain drip, things got better and then worse. There’s one night, I’ll never forget. We truly didn’t think he was going to make it over night and there was nothing we could do. In the NICU, you are only allowed to have two visitors. The nurses allowed us all 7 of us to come in and say prayer with him. I can still see my sister crying. After New Years, he was released to rehab. To only go back to the ER with air in his brain. After days of not eating and many more test. Things got better and he was released to go home.

I’m happy to say he is in great health today.

As a family, we always think its important to capture family photos in every season of out lives. Because we never know what the future holds. So we live in the moment and enjoy our time with each other.

Tyler, I loved seeing these pictures of your wonderful family! Stephen is amazing! He’s had that strong will to survive since he was born.
Your grandmother loves her family with an unconditional love. How fortunate you are to have her in your life.
